# Bridge to Mode Network

## What is Mode Bridge?

Mode Bridge is a feature of Mode that facilitates the transfer of assets between the Ethereum mainnet and the Mode Network. It functions through a smart contract, managing the transfer of assets from the Ethereum mainnet to the Mode Network and vice versa. This process, known as "bridging," allows users to lock their assets on the mainchain, creating an equivalent amount on the Mode Network. This enables faster transactions and lower costs. Users can also reverse the process, known as "un-bridging," which removes the assets from the Mode Network and releases the original assets on the mainchain.
